Let me be clear: this is not a dig at Appliances Online - they have been outstanding and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. This is very much a grievance with Schweigen. This rangehood has two outlets that come together at a Y joint before connecting to the motor. The outlets are cut at 250mm and the input to the motor is 200mm. So what is required then is a Y joint with 2 x 250mm holes and 1 x 200mm hole. What they’ve supplied is the inverse - a Y joint with 2 x 200mm hole and 1 x 250mm hole. You might think I’m crazy, but I’ve measured this a number of times and had professional outdoor rangehood installers confirm the same. The Schweigen “Brand Manager” was completely non-plussed, and so far promises by Schweigen’s Customer Service team have yielded nothing. So essentially I have a $4,000 fancy piece of metal. Abysmal! Next stop is Consumer Affairs.
